APHC Urges Kashmiris to Observe India’s Republic Day as Black Day

Lahore: All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealed to Kashmiris across the globe to observe January 26, India's Republic Day, as a Black Day: All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealed to Kashmiris across the globe to observe January 26, India's Republic Day, as a Black Day.

According to Radio Pakistan, in a statement, APHC spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, said that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed region, and India has no right to hold Republic Day celebrations in the occupied territory.

He further stated that India continues to subject Kashmiris to brutal oppression for demanding freedom and the right to self-determination, exposing the hypocrisy of India's claim as the world's largest democracy.

Posters, urging people to observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day, have also been pasted in various parts of IIOJK.

On the other hand, New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor has escalated restrictions ahead of India's Republic Day under the guise of security measures, further exacerbating the hardships of Kashmiris who have long endured the brutality of Indian state terrorism.

The IIOJK administration has intensified cordon and search operations and restrictions in the region.

Large numbers of Indian military, paramilitary, and police personnel have been deployed in Srinagar and other major cities and towns of the occupied Kashmir Valley.
