APHC Denounces Intensified Indian Atrocities in Kashmir

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a strong condemnation of the recent intensification of Indian military actions against Kashmiris engaged in their ongoing freedom struggle.

According to Radio Pakistan, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas emphasized that the Kashmir conflict is inherently a political issue that requires resolution through the principle of self-determination. Minhas highlighted the global attention the Kashmir dispute has garnered, attributing it to the significant sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people.

Minhas appealed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to acknowledge the dire situation in occupied Kashmir and to facilitate a resolution in line with pertinent UN resolutions. Meanwhile, Indian forces have persisted with siege and search operations in several districts including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Islamabad, and Pulwama.

Statements from Hurriyat leaders and organizations have accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to transform India into an exclusively Hindu nation. They claim that the BJP is executing a plan to reduce the Muslim majority in occupied Jammu and Kashmir to a minority and to impose a Hindutva ideology.

Additionally, today marks the 33rd anniversary of the demolition of the 16th-century Babri Mosque by Hindu extremists in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi remarked that the destruction of the Babri Masjid has revealed the contradictions in India’s claim of being a secular nation.
