APHC Condemns Human Rights Violations by Indian Troops in IIOJK

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations committed by Indian troops in the region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The APHC’s criticism comes amid escalating tensions and increased military operations in the area.

According to Radio Pakistan, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas issued a statement from Srinagar, highlighting the aggressive policies imposed by the BJP regime. These policies are perceived as attempts to silence dissent and alter the demographic structure of the region through coercive means. Minhas urged the United Nations and the international community to acknowledge India’s actions as state terrorism and to take decisive steps towards resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

In a related development, Indian police and paramilitary forces conducted extensive cordon and search operations in and around Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area. The sudden military-style operations have intensified the atmosphere of fear and surveillance in the city, which is already heavily militarized. Eyewitnesses reported that normal life was disrupted, causing panic among traders and residents. These operations are seen as part of India’s broader strategy to intimidate civilians and suppress dissent under the guise of security.

Concurrently, senior Indian Army commanders have reviewed the operational readiness of troops stationed along the Line of Control and in the hinterland areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts. This review is part of New Delhi’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its military presence and consolidate control over the disputed territory, especially as cordon and search operations intensify across the region.
