Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has made a fervent appeal to the United Nations and international human rights organizations to advocate for the release of thousands of Kashmiri political prisoners held in various jails across India and the occupied region of Jammu and Kashmir. According to Radio Pakistan, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas highlighted the dire situation of detainees, including prominent figures such as Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, and Khurram Parvez. Minhas emphasized that these individuals are enduring inhuman conditions and torture during their detention. In a related development, several Kashmiri political leaders have expressed strong opposition to the BJP-led Indian government's recent move to introduce three contentious bills in the Lok Sabha. They argue that these bills represent a dangerous shift towards authoritarian governance. Leaders from the Congress, National Conference, and Communist Party of India-Marxis t have vowed to oppose these legislative measures in all possible forums.
