Any Aggression by India Will Face Befitting Response: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir


Washington: Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has firmly stated that any aggression by India will be met with a befitting response. He made these remarks while addressing the Pakistani diaspora during his visit to the United States.



According to Radio Pakistan, Field Marshal Munir emphasized that Pakistan has successfully countered India’s discriminatory and dual policies through diplomatic efforts. He criticized India’s attempts to present itself as a Vishva Guru, stating that it fails to live up to this claim in practice. He highlighted the involvement of India’s intelligence agency RAW in transnational terrorist activities as a global concern. The Field Marshal cited incidents such as the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada, the case of eight Indian Naval Officers in Qatar, and Kulbhushan Jadhav as examples of such activities. He condemned recent Indian aggression that violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and resulted in civilian casualties, warning that it has brought the region to the brink of war.



Field Marshal Munir expressed gratitude to former US President Donald Trump for his strategic leadership, which he credited with preventing a war between India and Pakistan, as well as other potential conflicts worldwide. He affirmed Pakistan’s decisive response to Indian provocations, stating that Pakistan is vigilant against India’s ongoing attempts to destabilize the region.



Turning to the Kashmir issue, Field Marshal Munir reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir, which is illegally occupied by India, remains an international concern. He referenced the statements of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the United Nations Security Council resolutions, affirming Pakistan’s support for these resolutions.



Field Marshal Munir also highlighted the strengthening Pak-US relations, noting that his recent visits to the United States signify a new dimension in bilateral ties, with an aim to cultivate a constructive and positive trajectory.



Addressing the situation in Palestine, he condemned the ongoing genocide in Gaza, describing it as a severe human tragedy with far-reaching global and regional implications.



On Pakistan’s fight against terrorism, the Field Marshal identified terrorist organizations operating from Afghanistan, including Fitna-al-Khawarij, as threats to Pakistan. He declared that Pakistan stands as the last bulwark against terrorism and committed to bringing terrorists to justice.



Field Marshal Munir praised overseas Pakistanis for their contributions and resilience, rejecting the notion of brain drain and instead labeling them as a “brain gain” for the nation. He acknowledged their role in supporting Pakistan during natural calamities and their unwavering commitment to the country.



Discussing social media, he noted its power as a tool while cautioning against its misuse by anti-national elements to create chaos.



Field Marshal Munir mentioned the potential for significant investment stemming from a possible trade agreement with the United States and outlined Pakistan’s achievements in international relations. He noted that various Memoranda of Understanding are being implemented with countries like the US, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China to foster economic cooperation and investment.



He emphasized the immense potential of Pakistan’s young population, which constitutes sixty-four percent of the country, as a key driver for future development. He attributed Pakistan’s recent diplomatic and security successes against India to collective national efforts and the professionalism of the armed forces. Field Marshal Munir called for unity and progress with a renewed spirit, honoring the legacy of past generations.
