Sialkot: Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has stated that individuals who have engaged in activities against the security and solidarity of the country will be held accountable.
According to Radio Pakistan, while speaking to media personnel in Sialkot, Asif emphasized the need to hold accountable those hiding in various sectors who have participated in anti-state activities.
The Defence Minister highlighted that former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was ousted from office based on what he described as fabricated allegations orchestrated under a conspiracy.
He further mentioned that the military institution conducted a transparent trial, leading to the punishment of the former Director General ISI, Faiz Hameed. Asif noted that further legal proceedings are still pending against Hameed.
Khawaja Asif remarked that recent incidents in Pakistan’s history are unprecedented, and accused Faiz Hameed of misusing his position to support the interests of PTI and conspiring in the events of May 9.
