Analysts Hail Government for Passing a Balanced Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26

Islamabad: Analysts have praised the government for successfully passing a balanced budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, emphasizing its role in achieving economic stability. Dr. Shafqat Munir, an economist, highlighted that the federal budget is a continuation of the government’s ongoing economic policies. He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been committed to stabilizing the country’s economy since assuming office. The budget is part of a sustained effort to uplift the national economy, aiming to enhance revenue, particularly through increased tax collection, in order to reduce dependence on both domestic and international debt. While the budget may initially present challenges for the common man, it is expected to eventually provide relief as economic stabilization efforts take effect.

According to Radio Pakistan, economist Zamir Assadi also commended the government for presenting a balanced budget despite regional tensions, particularly between Pakistan and India. He described the budget’s appr
oval by parliament as a significant achievement, with coalition partners fully supporting the government’s efforts. Assadi believes that the budget is set to create more opportunities for both the business class and ordinary citizens. Various chambers of commerce, industries, and traders’ bodies have expressed their approval of the government’s budget, indicating a favorable business environment. The anticipated increase in economic activities as a result of the budget is expected to yield benefits for the public and the common man.
