Doha: Amb. Naela Chohan, a former diplomat, expressed optimism about the positive impact of the recent Arab-Islamic Summit held in Qatar. Leaders from all participating countries convened to develop a unified strategy to counter future Israeli aggression. Qatar remains committed to its mediatory role, despite feeling betrayed by Israel, having hosted Hamas leadership at Israel’s request.
According to Radio Pakistan, Chohan believes the summit serves as a crucial wake-up call for regional countries, particularly if Israel continues to violate international law. She emphasized the necessity for these countries to decide on their stance regarding the Abraham Accords. Chohan highlighted Israel’s disregard for international law, pointing to its history of invasions and its pursuit of a ‘greater Israel.’ She underscored the need for Muslim countries to establish a defensive strategy to protect their sovereignty in light of rising offensives against them.
Chohan commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his proposal to create an Arab-Islamic Task Force to curb Israel’s expansionism. She noted that it is now up to regional organizations to work on this practical proposal, which could serve as a warning to Israel.
