Baku: Amb. Waheed Ahmad, a former diplomat, commended the involvement of Pakistan and Turkiye in the Victory Day celebrations in Azerbaijan. He noted that these celebrations are a welcoming ceremony, with friendly countries participating as a show of love and commitment to Azerbaijan. The events are seen as important for regional integration and collaboration, particularly in defense and economic sectors.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad emphasized that such events are productive and the participation of friendly countries is appreciated. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s support for Pakistan during its conflict with India, underscoring a clear message from Baku to New Delhi regarding Azerbaijan’s steadfast alliance with Pakistan. Ahmad pointed out that while Azerbaijan maintains ties with India, these are not at the expense of its relationship with Pakistan. The ambassador also noted that Azerbaijan seeks support from Pakistan when needed.
The diplomat further remarked on the global diplomatic landscape, observing that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not invited to certain international events, whereas Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is warmly received. He mentioned the growing relations between Pakistan, China, and Russia, indicating a positive trajectory in international alliances and partnerships.
