Both nations have established strong ties in the defence sector, with Azerbaijan showing interest in acquiring equipment for its naval fleet from Pakistan. Azerbaijani naval officers have praised the professionalism and indigenous production capabilities of the Pakistan Navy.

According to Radio Pakistan, while the security challenges faced by Pakistan differ from those of Azerbaijan, there are numerous areas for mutual cooperation. The visits of the Azerbaijani navy to Pakistan facilitate the exchange of expertise, with the Pakistan Navy actively sharing knowledge and skills with their Azerbaijani counterparts.
