Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that Pakistan is shifting its focus from aid to trade and investment to achieve sustainable growth.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister emphasized this new direction during remarks made at prominent international financial platforms. He expressed confidence in the economic strength of Pakistan, suggesting a resurgence of the country’s economy following stabilization efforts by the government in recent years.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb’s slogan, “no aid, just trade,” aims to send a strong message to global economic powers about Pakistan’s stabilized economic position. The shift away from aid aligns with global trends, as some countries, including the United States, are moving towards protectionism. The Finance Minister believes that trade, rather than aid, provides a sustainable foundation for economic growth. He indicated that both domestic and international factors play a crucial role in economic development, with the ease of doing business domestically encouraging foreign direct investment.

The Finance Minister also acknowledged the efforts of the State Bank of Pakistan in curbing the inflation rate, which has contributed to a stable exchange rate. This stability is seen as a positive step towards attracting further investment and enhancing Pakistan’s economic prospects.
