Islamabad: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, has called on the outlawed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) to cease its protest activities and participate in negotiations to address their concerns. During a news conference held in Islamabad alongside Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Azad Kashmir leaders, Muqam emphasized the importance of dialogue over continued unrest.
According to Radio Pakistan, Engineer Amir Muqam highlighted that discussions with the banned Action Committee had taken place last month, during which swift implementation of the agreed-upon demands was ensured. Despite these efforts, the JAAC chose to pursue protest actions and refrained from attending any meetings of the legal committee established after the negotiations.
Muqam expressed concern that the banned Action Committee's actions could potentially harm the Kashmir cause, stressing the need for a collaborative approach to resolve the issues at hand.
