Washington d.c.: The Pakistani Embassy in Washington D.C. held a prestigious flag hoisting ceremony to mark Pakistan Day. The event was attended by officials and staff of the U.S. Department of State, media representatives, and leaders of the Pakistani community. Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, hoisted the national flag of Pakistan to the tune of the national anthem.

According to Radio Pakistan, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh addressed the ceremony, highlighting the Pakistani nation's resilience in facing challenges throughout its history. He emphasized the historical and significant partnership between Pakistan and the United States, noting its positive and productive nature. He also mentioned that Pakistan has been significantly affected by terrorism and continues to combat it.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh stressed Pakistan's key role in promoting regional peace and stability, highlighting the urgent need for close political and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States. He affirmed Pakistan's readiness to play a strong role at regional and global levels through its capability and competence.

The Ambassador further reiterated Pakistan's commitment to contributing to sustainable peace, security, and stability in South Asia. He expressed Pakistan's dedication to strengthening bilateral ties with the United States, especially in economic cooperation.

Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out during the ceremony. The Ambassador conveyed Pakistan Day greetings to the Pakistani community residing in the United States, acknowledging their pivotal role in strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

Earlier, US Deputy Assistant Secretary Ambassador John Pommersheim highlighted the strength and growing potential of Pakistan-U.S. relations, underscoring opportunities for long-term cooperation. The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting to mark Pakistan Day.
