Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has directed the speedy and effective distribution of Chinese donated agricultural machinery to the provinces. Chairing a meeting regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Islamabad, he emphasized that provincial departments should distribute the machinery to grassroots levels within ten days.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting was informed that the donated machinery includes forty tractors, forty multipurpose harvesters, and other equipment. This donation aims to enhance the capacity of agricultural research institutions and farming communities in Pakistan, ultimately contributing to the country’s food security and economic development.
Additionally, the Minister for Planning directed the Power Division, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to ensure the completion of the transmission line to the Gwadar South Free Zone. This is necessary for the operationalization of the 1.2 million gallons per day (MGD) desalination plant at the earliest.
