Islamabad: Peace and Development Unit has been established within the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, with the goal of integrating peace and stability into national development. At its unveiling ceremony in Islamabad, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal underscored the importance of peace for driving the country forward on the path of sustainable development. He emphasized that the objective of peace must be projected as a national priority.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal said it is crucial to cleanse the minds of the youth from the viruses of extremism, prejudice, and hatred. He highlighted the government’s efforts to promote dialogue and discussions at the university level, fostering consensus and equipping the youth with the ability to embrace unity in diversity.
