Islamabad:Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal reached out to Deputy Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal relayed a message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Jamaat-e-Islami. The Prime Minister had previously requested the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer over the phone to cancel a planned protest.

After the conversation with the Prime Minister, the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer agreed to postpone the protest. The Minister stated that a meeting, agreed upon during the Prime Minister's call with the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, will be arranged soon with mutual agreement.

Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that providing relief to the public is among the government's priorities, and this matter will be further discussed through mutual consultation.
