Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has announced that the year 2026 would be declared the “Year of Quaid-e-Azam” in connection with his one hundred fiftieth birth anniversary. He was chairing a meeting of the National Committee in Islamabad on Monday, which was also attended by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Planning Minister stated that a sub-committee was being constituted to finalize the programme of events, which would submit its recommendations within five days. He emphasized the need for a coordinated and well-structured strategy to ensure that the commemorative activities were meaningful, impactful and memorable.
Ahsan Iqbal mentioned that Quaid-e-Azam’s vision continued to provide comprehensive guidance for Pakistan, and that his principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline would be highlighted in an integrated manner throughout the celebrations. He also announced that a high-quality drama series would be produced on the life of Quaid-e-Azam, focusing on his political struggle, leadership during the independence movement and his historic role in the creation of Pakistan.
