Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has announced that an agreement has been signed with the Joint Action Committee of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In a social media post on platform X, he emphasized the significant role that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir play in Pakistan’s national cause.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal highlighted that recent weeks saw challenges due to public concerns. He credited the resolution of the situation to the wisdom of both local and national leadership and the spirit of dialogue, which led to a peaceful resolution without violence or division, and with mutual respect.
Ahsan Iqbal described the agreement as a victory for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and democracy. He acknowledged the efforts of the Joint Action Committee in voicing the citizens’ concerns and noted that the government, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, took these concerns seriously.
The Planning Minister further stated the commitment to work together for good governance and development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
