Islamabad: The two-day 9th International Water Conference on ‘Emerging Technologies for Water Security and Socio-Economic Development’ is set to begin in Islamabad on Tuesday. The event aims to bring together a diverse group of researchers, practitioners, academicians, and policymakers from around the globe to discuss pressing issues related to water management and sustainability.
According to Radio Pakistan, the conference will take place at the OIC-COMSTECH Secretariat and will offer a platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative dialogue. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in various academic presentations, interactive panel discussions, and specialized technical sessions.
The event will feature the presentation of over 80 scholarly papers covering an array of sub-themes. These include Environment and Climate Change, Food and Agriculture, Glaciology and Snow Hydrology, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Circular Water Economy, Policy and Governance, and Artificial Intelligence for Water Security.
The conference is expected to encourage discussions that will inform policy and practice, stimulate cross-sectoral collaboration, and promote innovative approaches for the sustainable management of water resources.
