Islamabad: Adviser to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad, has announced that key productive sectors such as housing finance, SME loans, and the 'Zarkhaiz Asaan Zarai Qarza' program are being integrated into the financial system as part of the financial inclusion effort.
According to Radio Pakistan, under the 'Zarkhaiz Asaan Zarai Qarza' program, the target is to integrate 750,000 farmers into the financial system and provide them with agricultural loans totaling 300 billion rupees over the next three years. This initiative aims to offer digital registration, collateral-free loans, and various agricultural facilities to farmers.
Schehzad highlighted that 33,000 farmers have already been registered, and 8,000 loans have been approved under the program. He also noted that agricultural financing reached 2.5 trillion rupees last year, with the first half of this year recording 1.4 trillion rupees in agricultural loans.
