Nankana sahib: The 556th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the Sikh religion, are set to begin tomorrow. Sikh devotees, known as Yatrees, are converging on Nankana Sahib from both within and outside Pakistan to participate in the commemorative ceremonies dedicated to their first Guru.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Sikh Yatrees will embark on a pilgrimage to pay homage at significant religious sites, including Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal. The main ceremony celebrating Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary is scheduled to take place at Gurdwara Janam Asthan on Wednesday.
Comprehensive arrangements concerning security, transport, accommodation, and food have been finalized, with special teams from the Evacuee Trust Property Board overseeing the preparations. In a related development, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued visas to 2,100 Sikh Yatrees from India, facilitating their participation in the events.
