Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has stated that the 27th Constitutional Amendment is designed to enhance governance and defence, alongside ensuring the effective delivery of justice. He made these remarks while addressing the National Assembly.

According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar expressed disappointment over the opposition’s failure to provide suggestions on the constitutional amendment during a detailed discussion. He criticized the PTI for not engaging in the political process and instead resorting to political point scoring.

The minister highlighted that Pakistan’s international stature has improved significantly following its success in the recent conflict with India and the country’s economic recovery. He noted that remittances have reached a record high, with 3.4 billion dollars received in October, marking an eleven percent increase from the same period last year. Additionally, he praised the security forces for their achievements in combating terrorism.
