Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Convenes to Sight Shawwal’s Moon


Islamabad: The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled for this evening to observe the Moon of Shawwal. This crucial meeting will be chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad and is set to take place on the rooftop of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

According to Radio Pakistan, the zonal meetings of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will simultaneously be conducted in the provincial capitals. These meetings are an integral part of the process to determine the beginning of the month of Shawwal, which marks the end of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations Marked by Enthusiastic Gatherings Nationwide


Islamabad: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with great religious zeal and fervor across the country today. Eid congregations are being held at open places, mosques, and Eidgahs in all villages, towns, and cities.



According to Radio Pakistan, special prayers will be offered in the Eid sermons for the development and prosperity of the country and the liberation of Muslim territories, including Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and Palestine. In Islamabad, the main Eid congregation will be held at Faisal Mosque, where government dignitaries, foreign diplomats, and common people will offer Eid prayers.

Pakistan Committed to Cleaner, Healthier, Sustainable Future: PM


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future. In his message on International Day of Zero Waste, he emphasized the country’s dedication to eco-friendly manufacturing, textile recycling, and ethical consumerism to mitigate environmental impact.



According to Radio Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the Plastic Waste Management Action Plan, which aims to eliminate single-use plastics, promote biodegradable alternatives, and enhance recycling efforts. He also called on local governments to bolster waste collection and expand recycling facilities to support these initiatives.

Pakistan and Kuwait to Bolster Economic and Trade Ties


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, during which he extended warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. He also conveyed his best wishes to the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the people of Kuwait.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its cordial relations with Kuwait, emphasizing the historical brotherly ties between the two nations. He recalled his productive meeting with the Crown Prince in New York last year on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s annual session.



Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral economic, investment, and trade cooperation through close collaboration and exploring joint initiatives. He extended an invitation to the Crown Prince to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, which was graciously accepted by the Crown Prince. The visit of the Prime Minister of Kuwait to Pakistan is expected to precede the Crown Prince’s visit.



Crown Prince Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah reciprocated the Prime Minister’s Eid greetings and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan. He emphasized the need for both countries to work closely together to strengthen bilateral cooperation for their mutual benefit and prosperity.

All Set to Introduce National Minerals Harmonization Framework


Islamabad: Preparations have been completed to introduce the National Minerals Harmonization Framework at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The federal government, in collaboration with provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, has devised this framework to create a uniform regulatory structure.



According to Radio Pakistan, compatible laws and favorable policies will be introduced to promote investment in the mineral sector of the country. The policy has been developed by incorporating suggestions from Chief Secretaries, Chief Ministers, and mining companies. The Framework aims to develop environmental protection, safe mining, and the promotion of international partnerships as the country’s mineral resources are worth over six trillion dollars, offering unparalleled opportunities for investors.



Tax incentives, fast-track licensing, and dispute resolution mechanisms are likely to be introduced to encourage investment. The government is committed to projecting Pakistan as a global mineral investment hub with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

PM, Turkiye’s President Discuss Bilateral, Regional Issues


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to him, as well as to the brotherly people of Turkiye, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul Fitr.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the positive momentum in bilateral relations between the two countries while recalling President Erdogan’s historic visit to Pakistan last month. He emphasized the need for the timely implementation of important decisions taken during the 7th High Level Strategic Cooperative Council meeting in Islamabad.



Shehbaz Sharif underscored the deep-rooted historic ties between the two countries, highlighting the pride in their consistent support for each other, particularly on issues of core interest.



The leaders also exchanged views on the regional situation, with President Erdogan thanking the Prime Minister for his Eid ul Fitr wishes and reciprocating sentiments for the people of Pakistan. He reaffirmed Turkiye’s steadfast support for Pakistan on all important issues.
