Three Days Left for Illegal Foreigners, ACC Holders to Leave Pakistan


Islamabad: Three days are left now for illegal foreigners and Afghan Citizen Card holders to leave Pakistan. The government has given a deadline for illegal foreigners and Afghan citizen card holders to leave the country by Monday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the government has assured that no mistreatment will occur during the process and it has made arrangements for food and health facilities for those returning.

PM Extends Eid Greetings to Egyptian President


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today held a telephonic conversation with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi and exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. During the call, the Prime Minister conveyed warm wishes to the leadership, government, and the people of Egypt while praying for their continued prosperity, peace, and progress.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister fondly recalled his visit to Cairo in December last year where he participated in the D-8 Summit. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen its existing friendly ties with Egypt across all spheres of mutual interest. The Prime Minister lauded the success of Egypt’s Hepatitis C program. The two leaders agreed that an Egyptian delegation would visit Pakistan immediately after Eid to assist Pakistan’s Hepatitis control efforts and a Pakistani delegation would also visit Egypt in this regard.



The Egyptian President warmly reciprocated the Eid ul Fitr greetings and extended his best wishes to the people of Pakistan on this joyous occasion. He also expressed Egypt’s desire to strengthen its mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan.

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Convene for Moon Sighting in Islamabad


Islamabad: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet in Islamabad tomorrow to observe the sighting of the Shawwal 1446 Hijri Moon.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting will be presided over by the Chairman of the Committee, Moulana Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad. In parallel, the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will conduct their separate meetings at their respective headquarters to observe the Eid-ul-Fitr Moon.

Pakistan and Tajikistan Voice Satisfaction on Growing Bilateral Relations


Islamabad: Pakistan and Tajikistan have expressed satisfaction on the positive trajectory of their bilateral relations. This development occurred during a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.



According to Radio Pakistan, during the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Rahmon on the recent signing of the ‘Treaty on the Delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Border’. The Prime Minister also expressed his anticipation to participate in the “International High-Level Event on Glaciers’ Preservation” scheduled to be hosted in Dushanbe at the end of May 2025.



Prime Minister Sharif extended congratulations to President Rahmon and the people of Tajikistan on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr. In response, President Rahmon expressed gratitude for the call and conveyed his sincere wishes to the people of Pakistan on the same occasion.



In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif shared that he had the pleasure of speaking with President Rahmon. He mentioned that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Pakistan-Tajikistan ties, which have strengthened since his visit to Dushanbe in July. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated his invitation to President Rahmon to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.

OGDCL and PMDC Formulate Plan to Exploit Antimony Deposits Discovered in Balochistan


Islamabad: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) have formulated a comprehensive plan to explore and commercialize the large deposits of antimony discovered in Balochistan.



According to Radio Pakistan, a joint venture between OGDCL and PMDC, with a 50:50 partnership, is expected to be announced during the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, scheduled for the 8th and 9th of next month. The collaboration aims to unlock the potential of these newly discovered antimony reserves and boost the mineral sector in the region.



The potential use of Oman’s advanced facilities for refining antimony is also being considered, as it could enhance the efficiency and profitability of the extraction process. Additionally, a decision has been made to modernize and align Pakistan’s mining educational curriculum with international standards, ensuring that the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.



Plans are underway to initiate remote sensing and geological surveys for a comprehensive analysis of the antimony deposits in Balochistan. These efforts are expected to provide valuable insights into the quantity and quality of the reserves, aiding in effective extraction strategies.



In Gilgit Baltistan, there has been progress on acquiring ten mineral blocks. Authorities have confirmed the presence of reserves for gold, copper, nickel, and cobalt, indicating significant potential for further exploration and development in the region.



Furthermore, OGDCL and the Mineral Department are in contact regarding the exploration of mineral deposits in Chiniot. This collaboration aims to identify and develop additional mineral resources, contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth and mineral wealth.

PM Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Ties with Oman


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with Oman across all spheres. He expressed this resolve during a telephone conversation today with Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman Haitham bin Tariq.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction on the recent successful visit of Pakistan’s Commerce Minister to Muscat, which would pave the way for the two sides to explore mutually beneficial avenues for cooperation. He also reiterated his invitation to the Sultan of Oman and requested him to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.



Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the Sultan as well as the brotherly people of Oman on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. In his remarks, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq warmly reciprocated the Prime Minister’s Eid greetings and conveyed his best wishes for the people of Pakistan.



Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in a post on social media platform X, said he spoke to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, and extended the sincerest greetings to him and brotherly people of Oman on Eid-ul-Fitr. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation on the successful visit of Pakistan’s Commerce Minister to Muscat and reiterated his invitation to the Sultan of Oman for undertaking an official visit to Pakistan soon.
