Gilani Emphasizes Need to Facilitate Business Community


Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has emphasized the need to provide all possible facilities to the business community to promote investment in the country. Addressing the launching ceremony of a private restaurant in Islamabad on Thursday, he said Pakistani cuisine is popular worldwide and its culture has a unique identity.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Acting President highlighted the significant potential within the private sector for development. He suggested that through joint and collaborative efforts, Pakistan could be transformed into an attractive tourist destination. Gilani also pointed out that the Special Investment Facilitation Council is offering a one-window facility to investors, aimed at streamlining the investment process and encouraging economic growth.

Shahid Burki and Shamshad Akhtar Meet Finance Minister Aurangzeb to Discuss Economic Progress


Islamabad: Former Caretaker Ministers for Finance Shahid Javed Burki and Ms. Shamshad Akhtar separately called on Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad today. During the meetings, discussions were held on the country’s economic progress and the government’s strategic efforts towards restoring macroeconomic stability and laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meetings provided an opportunity for the exchange of valuable insights and perspectives from the vast experience of both former ministers. They offered constructive input to Senator Aurangzeb’s ongoing efforts in economic governance, sharing their expertise in institutional building, economic policy formulation, and economic management.

Aurangzeb Urges Rapid Implementation of Climate Policies


Islamabad: Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has stressed the need to adopt policies framed to address climate change-related issues on a fast-track basis. He highlighted this urgency while speaking at the international climate change conference titled “Breathe Pakistan” held in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb emphasized that Pakistan is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change and that there is an urgent need to accelerate mitigation efforts. He expressed gratitude to the Vulnerable Twenty group, which is working on a comprehensive Climate Prosperity plan, expected to be unveiled in April.

DPM Urges UN to Address Human Rights Violations in Kashmir


New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has called on the UN Security Council members to take decisive actions to ensure the implementation of its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.



According to Radio Pakistan, a letter was delivered by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, to the President of the Council in New York. The letter emphasized the need to end India’s violations of the human rights of the Kashmiri people, focusing on their right to self-determination.



In his communication, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the serious human rights violations occurring in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by Indian forces.

First ‘Made in Pakistan’ Exhibition Inaugurated in Jeddah


Jeddah: Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, inaugurated Pakistan’s first-ever Single Country Exhibition, ‘Made in Pakistan’, in Jeddah today. Addressing a distinguished gathering of Saudi officials, business leaders, and diplomats, the Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and showcasing Pakistan’s diverse industrial potential.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted different aspects of strong Pakistan and Saudi Arab economic ties. Jam Kamal Khan expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its unwavering support in organizing the exhibition. He underlined the government’s commitment to expanding trade and investment ties with Saudi Arabia through strategic economic initiatives.

OIC Voices Support for Self-Determination in Jammu and Kashmir


Islamabad: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for the right to self-determination. The General Secretariat of the OIC, in a statement, has reiterated its call to revoke all illegal measures initiated on August 5, 2019, which aimed to change the demographic structure of the disputed territory.



According to Radio Pakistan, the statement referred to the decisions and resolutions of the Islamic Summit and the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on Jammu and Kashmir. It again called on the international community to enhance its efforts to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
