UK desires to promote ties with Pakistan in various fields

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has emphasized the formulation of a common strategy to cope with terrorism, which is an international phenomenon. Talking to the British high commissioner Jane Marriott in Islamabad today, he said Pakistan is the only country which has made immense sacrifices in the war on terrorism. He said Pakistan Army and security agencies have created a story of courage and bravery in this war. He said the terrorists will not be allowed to disturb law and order situation. The Interior Minister said Pakistan attaches great importance to its long standing ties with Britain. He said the role of the Pakistani community in Britain in the development of both countries is commendable. He stressed the need for exchange of delegations for promotion of bilateral relations. The Interior Minister said all possible steps are being taken to prevent human trafficking. The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in diverse fields. Authorities Trace Origin of Threatening Letters to Judges

According to media reports, the threatening letters sent to Lahore High Court (LHC) judges have been traced back to Islamabad. The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) swiftly coordinated with its Islamabad counterpart, seeking collaboration for further investigation. As per recent findings, the envelopes containing the suspicious substance, sent to judges of the Lahore High Court, originated from the post office situated in Sector-I 10/4 of Islamabad. Furthermore, Satellite Town, a prominent locality opposite to the origin of the letters, played a crucial role in this concerning incident. Earlier today, Lahore High Court (LHC) judge Justice Baqar Ali Najafi also received a threatening letter. According to the details, upon receiving the suspicious letter, the staff of LHC immediately contacted the police, who then handed it over to the CTD. Previously, LHC Chief Justice Shahzad Malik Ahmed also received a threatening letter containing 'suspicious powder.' Reports stated that initially, the LHC st aff received the letter addressed to the CJ but dismissed it as a 'routine' letter. Private Schools and Colleges Announce Eid Holidays

The All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association has announced the holiday schedule for Eid al-Fitr. According to Dr. Malik Abrar Hussain, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association, private schools and colleges across Pakistan will observe Eid-ul-Fitr holidays from April 10th to April 14th. He added that private educational institutions will resume regular operations starting Monday, April 15, 2024, following Eid-ul-Fitr. Previously, the federal government had announced a three-day and four-day holiday for Eidul Fitr for offices observing five and six working days a week, respectively. The Cabinet Division in a notification stated that offices following a five-day work week will be closed for holidays from Wednesday, April 10th, to Friday, April 12th. Similarly, for offices operating on a six-day work week, the holidays are scheduled from Wednesday, April 10th, to Saturday, April 13th. Minister for Industries directs to ensure supply of sugar to meet demand

RDA Demolishes Illegal Commercial Buildings in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has demolished under-construction commercial buildings in Gulraiz Housing Scheme Phase-II, Rawalpindi. The action was carried out under the directives of Director General Kinza Murtaza. A spokesperson for the authority revealed that the Enforcement Squad of RDA conducted an operation against unauthorized and illegal commercial buildings. During the operation, under-construction commercial structures located at Plot No. 549, 513, and 514 in Gulraiz Housing Scheme Phase-II, Rawalpindi were destroyed. The operation against illegal commercial buildings was carried out by the Deputy Director Building Control, incharge/Assistant Director Building Control, Building Inspectors, and other officials of the Enforcement Squad. The spokesman stated that prior to taking legal action, five notices were issued to Jamshaid and Fazal, the owners of the properties, for violating approved building plans/maps, the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulat ions 2020. The spokesperson revealed that the owners constructed illegal commercial buildings without obtaining approval and No Objection Certificates (NOCs). He stated that the Director General had ordered the Land Use and Building Control Wing to take strict action against encroachments, illegal and unauthorized constructions, and commercial activities without any bias. The Building Control Wing was also directed to conduct a survey to identify illegal residential and commercial buildings and to regularize all illegal residential cum commercial buildings.
