PML-N, MQM-P leadership agree on political collaboration

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Pakistan) have agreed to move forward together in the interest of the country and the nation. Leaderships of both the political parties agreed on the basic points during a meeting between the delegations of the two parties in Lahore today. PML-N delegation was led by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, whereas Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui led the MQM delegation. From PML-N, the delegation included President Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Maryam Aurangzeb and Rana Mashhood. The MQM delegation included Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Dr. Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal. The consultation process between the leaders of both the parties continued for almost an hour and detailed discussions were held on the current political situation. Meanwhile, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a post on X, that there was an agreement in principle on the basic points that both the parties will mov e ahead together in the interest of the country and the nation. In the meeting, there was a detailed consultation on the situation and suggestions were exchanged. President lauds high female voter turnout in general elections

President Dr Arif Ali has congratulated the people of Pakistan especially women for coming out in huge numbers in general election-2024. In a social media post on X, the President said that the youth deserves special mention for having decided to take charge of the country by participating in voting process He said that the youth have put their faith in democracy. The President said this belief is very precious and it will re-write history and must be recognized Dr Arif Alvi said a true mandate is essential to come out of the severe financial crunch, to repair and heal the bitterness of the past. He said that we must celebrate this effervescent new focus and show it to the outside world. Caretaker Govt ensured smooth conduct of elections: Solangi

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has expressed the confidence that the interim government has successfully fulfilled its responsibility of conducting peaceful and transparent elections in the country. Speaking during a programme of a private TV channel, he said the caretaker government provided every possible facility and cooperation to the Election Commission of Pakistan for smooth conduct of general elections. He said the election results vindicate the transparency of the elections. About concerns regarding the disruption of mobile services on Election Day, he said Ministry of Interior has clarified its stance, stating that measures were undertaken to address the issue promptly. Acknowledging the challenges faced by citizens, polling staff, and polling stations during the electoral process, he said ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens was our utmost priority. He said that it was essential for us to ensure the safe transportation of citizens and maintai ning security during the electoral process. Regarding disputes surrounding elections, the information minister said conflicts had always existed during the electoral process and history of elections in the past, including those in 2018 and 2013. Talking about the new government, he said the procedure for the transition of power is available under the Constitution and the law. Murtaza Solangi made it clear that once the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers of the new government take their oaths, the caretaker government will stand dissolved, paving the way for transition of power. Around 60 million voters went to polls on February 8

Around 60 million voters went to the polls on February 8 to elect their representatives. According to the preliminary report of the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN), more than 1.1 million election officials performed election duties. Additionally, more than 0.7 million police and military officials stood guard across the country and outside polling stations, ensuring peace and order on Election Day.
