PM asks overseas Pakistanis to be wary of malicious propaganda against homeland

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked overseas Pakistanis to be wary of malicious propaganda and use of disinformation to tarnish image of Pakistan and the state institutions.

In a tweet, he expressed great pleasure to meet and interact with members of expatriate Pakistani community in France.

The Prime Minister said overseas Pakistanis are making vital contributions to their adopted countries all over the world and their fellow countrymen are proud of their achievements as proud sons and daughters of the soil.

Shehbaz Sharif said he explained to the overseas Pakistanis the circumstances in which the coalition government assumed office as well as the mammoth economic, diplomatic and political challenges that the government had to deal with over the last one year.

He said he also outlined the broad contours of the Economic Revival Plan to put the economy back on track through long-term policies.

Shehbaz Sharif said achieving economic self-reliance remains the overriding goal for government.

Pakistan, Japan to hold 13th round of political consultations on Tuesday

Thirteenth Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Japan will be held on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan.

According to the Foreign Office, the twelfth round of the Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Japan was held on 24th February, 2020 in Islamabad.

The Pakistan side will be led by Foreign Secretary Dr Asad Majeed Khan while Shigeo Yamada, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan will lead the Japanese side.

During consultations both sides will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including political, trade, economic, connectivity, science & technology, cultural and people to people relations in order to strengthen the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Japan.

These consultations will foster closer cooperation for the mutual benefit of the people of Pakistan and Japan.

Economic stability must to tackle other challenges in country: Kundi

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation Faisal Karim Kundi has said the economic stability is vital to tackle other challenges in the country.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the PPP's main motto is to conduct elections at specific time after completion of the constitutional period of the government.

Commenting on the role of the coalition government, he said we have to cooperate with each other to revive business activity.

People who eat healthy diet may be less likely to develop diabetes: Study

A new study has found that people who eat a healthy diet including whole fruits may be less likely to develop diabetes.

The study by Institute for Nutrition Research in Perth, Australia says people who consume two servings of fruit per day have 36 percent lower chances of developing type 2 diabetes than those who consume less than half a serving.

The study further elaborates that not the same results were found in case of fruit juice thus concluding that consumption of whole fruit is more beneficial than juice.

Diabetes is a disease where people have too much sugar in their bloodstream, and it is a huge public health burden. Approximately 463 million adults worldwide were living with diabetes in 2019, and by 2045 this number is expected to rise to 700 million.
