Met Office predicts hot, dry weather

Very hot & dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

However, dust with thunderstorm-rain is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North East and South Punjab, north-east Balochistan and Kashmir.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad and Quetta twenty-three degree centigrade, Lahore twenty-six. Karachi thirty, Peshawar twenty-five, Gilgit seventeen, Murree sixteen and Muzaffarabad twenty-two degree centigrade.

According to weather forecast of Met Office for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain with wind and thunderstorm is likely in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramulla while partly cloudy weather with chances of rain with wind and thunderstorm in Jammu, Leh, Anantnag and Shopian.

Temperature recorded this morning:

Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla seventeen degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-seven, Leh eight, Pulwama sixteen and Shopian fifteen degree centigrade.

Anti-polio drive begins in various parts of KP

A five-day anti-polio drive has kicked off in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.

According to the emergency operation center, the drive is being conducted in seven districts of the province including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Kohat, Mohmand, Hangu and Khyber districts.

The anti-polio campaign is also being conducted at Afghan refugee camps and in high-risk union councils of along Pak-Afghan border.

More than two point two million children up to five years of age will be vaccinated during the said campaign.
