PM conveys condolences to bereaved families of Greece ferry tragedy

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condoled with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate ferry disaster in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Greece.

In a tweet on Saturday, he said Pakistan's Embassy in Athens has identified twelve Pakistanis rescued by Hellenic Coast Guard. He said the Embassy is in contact with the Greek authorities for further updates.

Pakistan-Iran bilateral political consultations begin today

The 12th round of two-day Pakistan-Iran bilateral political consultations begins in Tehran today.

Foreign Secretary Asad Majeed Khan will lead Pakistani delegation while Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of Iran, Ali Bagheri Kani will lead the Iranian side.

The two sides will hold discussions on regional situation particularly Afghanistan, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resumption of Iran-Saudi Arabia diplomatic ties and regional peace and stability.

Politics of PML-N based on public welfare: Amir Muqam

Adviser to Prime Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Engineer Amir Muqam has said that the politics of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is purely based on public welfare and development of the country.

In an interview, he said the government has paid special attention to the provision of vocational training to youth, boosting IT sector and improving agriculture sector in the budget.

Replying to a question, he said every patriotic Pakistani condemned the violent acts of 9 May and urged to take strict actions against the culprits involved in organized attacks on state institutions and military Installations.

President urges business, industrial sectors to adopt AI-based solutions

President Dr Arif Alvi has urged Pakistan’s business and industrial sectors to adopt Artificial Intelligence-based solutions for solving their problems and boosting their efficiency and productivity.

Talking to a delegation of Artificial Intelligence Education Foundation in Islamabad, he said exponential advancements in information technology has created new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs in various fields such as health, education, business and industry.

The President said Pakistan’s IT companies should adopt a global outlook to fully benefit from these advancements.

He said a robust and mutually beneficial partnerships among academia and industry stakeholders would help achieve key economic and technological milestones.

CPEC transforms Pakistan’s economic landscape: Moin

Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque has said the Belt and Road Initiative is providing tangible benefits to Pakistan through the flagship project China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Addressing as a key speaker at the 13th China Overseas Investment Fair, he said CPEC has transformed Pakistan's economic landscape providing a solid foundation for future growth and development.

Moin ul Haque said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is envisaged as a comprehensive and long-term project with key objectives to contribute to national socio-economic development agenda.
