AJK: By-election in LA-15 to be held tomorrow

By-election on AJK Legislative Assembly LA-15 Bagh-2 will be held tomorrow (Thursday).

The AJK Election Commission has made all arrangements for holding the election in free, fair and transparent manner.

Polling will start at eight in the morning and continue till five in the evening without any break. The seat fall vacant following disqualification of ex-Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas by AJK High Court in a court contempt case.

Khursheed Shah emphasizes early completion of under-construction dams

Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah has emphasized the need for early completion of under-construction dams to cope with the challenges of climate change and ever-increasing water needs.

He was chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review the pace of development work on Diamer Bhasha, Mohmand and Dasu Dams.

The Minister said we need to work on all the dams simultaneously on fast track to meet the energy and irrigation needs of the country.

The minister directed the DG National Highway Authority to ensure the construction of the roads in dams' areas at the earliest.

He also gave instructions for provision of the best health and education and other possible facilities to the people and communities associated with the dams.

Peshawar: Delegation of LRH doctors visits Radio Pakistan, condemns May 9 vandalism

A delegation of doctors and nurses of Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar visited the building of Radio Pakistan to witness the vandalism committed on May 9 and 10.

The delegation went around different parts of the burnt building and expressed shock and sorrow over the extent of ransacking, plundering and vandalism.

They expressed solidarity with the staff of Radio Pakistan and Associated Press of Pakistan over their losses apart from the damages caused to the offices of the two state-owned entities.
