Security forces kill seven terrorists in North Waziristan

Seven terrorists were killed in exchange of fire with the security forces in general area of Ghulam Khan KaIle, North Waziristan District.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops effectively engaged the terrorists and resultantly, Subedar Munir Hussain of Parachinar, Kurram, and Havildar Babu Khan of Dera Ismail Khan, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces.

Area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the vicinity.

Pakistan to continue moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris: Marriyum

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says government will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to people of Kashmir in lines with the vision of Nawaz Sharif.

She was talking to Senior Hurriyat leader and President of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmed Bhatt, who called on her in Islamabad on Sunday.

She said Kashmiris are fighting for their birthright of self-determination, which has been recognized by the United Nations.

The Information Minister also underlined the need of implementing UN resolutions on Kashmir and giving Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination. She said both Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif are deeply attached with the Kashmir cause.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Kashmir is a disputed territory whose future remains to be decided, and this issue can only be resolved by allowing the Kashmiri people to decide their future through a referendum.

The Minister said the present government will express solidarity with people of Kashmir on August 5 against Indian’s illegal move. She further said Pakistan’s embassies located around the world are being instructed to expose Indian illegal action of 5th August.

On the occasion, Altaf Ahmed Bhatt congratulated Maryam Aurangzeb on assuming the portfolio of Information Minster. .

The two leaders discussed different aspects of Kashmir Independence movement and prevailing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

World MSMEs Day observed

World Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day was observed on Monday.

The theme of this year’s Day, “Resilience and Rebuilding”, highlighted the vital role of micro-, small and medium sized enterprises for a fair and sustainable recovery.

In his message on this occasion, UN Secretary General António Guterres said strengthening small businesses helps fight poverty, create jobs and safeguard livelihoods, particularly for the working poor, women and youth.

Turnaround Pakistan Conference begins in Islamabad today

A Turnaround Pakistan Conference is beginning in Islamabad on Tuesday with an objective to find solutions to the country's current socio-economic issues.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be chief guest at the opening session of the conference.

The conference aims to take input, understand and resolve hurdles in economic growth in order to place the country's economy back on the track.

The government has already taken necessary short-term actions to stabilize the economy and deal with the balance of payments crisis.

Ministry of Planning and Development is hosting the conference.
