A two day talks between United States and China will begin in Washington on Thursday to find a solution of their deepening trade conflict.
Speaking in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said that he was hopeful for a good outcome.
The talks are the first formal interaction between US and China since June, when U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross unsuccessfully sought to secure major Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans and liquefied natural gas.
