Washington (UNA-OIC) � United States President Donald Trump announced at a White House press conference on Tuesday the formal withdrawal of US from the nuclear deal with Iran, signed in 2015, news agencies reported.
Trump signed a presidential decree to re-impose sanctions on Tehran, saying the economic sanctions will be at their highest level.
The decision to re-impose sanctions raises fears that European companies that trade with the Iranian government and do business in the US could be hit with sanctions.
Trump has long been a critic of the Iran nuclear deal, which was signed by his predecessor Barack Obama and lifted sanctions in turn for Tehran's nuclear program being curbed.C
