Tributes Paid to Yasmin Tahir at Condolence Reference in Lahore


Lahore: A condolence reference was held at Radio Pakistan Lahore in memory of the distinguished broadcaster and iconic voice of Radio Pakistan, Late Yasmin Tahir. Addressing the condolence reference, renowned theatre, film, and TV actor Naeem Tahir, who is also the husband of Yasmin Tahir, expressed gratitude to all attendees of the condolence reference and said that Yasmin Tahir will remain in the hearts of her countless listeners.



According to Radio Pakistan, Yasmin Tahir’s son, renowned actor and producer Ali Tahir, said that his mother had a profound impact on people. He said that Yasmin Tahir personalized her interactions with listeners, which was the foundation of her career’s success. Ali Tahir also emphasized his mother’s dedication to broadcasting and said that he witnessed how Yasmin Tahir invested her time, mind, and heart wholeheartedly in her radio programmes.



Speaking at the event, Yasmin Tahir’s other son and acclaimed actor Faran Tahir said that radio was an essential part of his mother’s life. He highlighted that her compassion and humanitarian spirit made her beloved by all. Famous actress and TV host Juggan Kazim said that Yasmin Tahir was the pride of Radio Pakistan and she will always live in people’s hearts.



Prominent broadcaster Badshah Gar Zaidi recalled that her program “Saat Rang” brought her widespread fame and that her speaking style made each listener feel personally addressed. PTV’s Senior Producer Hafeez Tahir said that Yasmin Tahir mesmerized the audience through her versatile microphone performance.



Senior Broadcaster Shoukia Zaheer Thanvi described Yasmin Tahir as a woman full of love and warmth, whose presence brought comfort among her fellow colleagues. PTV producer and playwright Shahid Mahmood Nadeem said that Yasmin Tahir’s voice was soothing and impressive, and her personality was very graceful.



Broadcaster Mohsin Nawaz termed Yasmin Tahir his mentor. He said that Yasmin Tahir taught him the art of speech and, through her programs, she promoted positive societal discourse. Senior Broadcaster Riaz Mahmood said that she was an icon of Radio Pakistan. Renowned Commentator and Broadcaster, Hassan Jalil recalled his association with Yasmin Tahir while conducting the Radio Pakistan’s Commercial Service.



In his welcome address, Station Director Radio Pakistan Lahore Ahmar Sohail Basra paid rich tribute to Yasmin Tahir and said that she was a true woman of substance, who brought new dimensions to the art and values of broadcasting. Our Radio Pakistan Lahore correspondent Syed Qasim Bukhari reports that a studio at Radio Pakistan Lahore was also named in memory of the distinguished broadcaster Yasmin Tahir on the occasion.
