Repatriation of Afghan Refugees to Homeland Continues in Dignified Manner

Chaman: Repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland continues in a dignified manner. About 10,700 Afghan refugees repatriated to Afghanistan from the Chaman border yesterday. From today onwards, the repatriation of Afghan refugees has also started from the Torkham border.

According to Radio Pakistan, as per the official statistics, about 15 lakh sixty thousand Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland so far. The repatriation process is being carried out under proper legal procedures. Permission to cross the border is being given only after verification of each person’s documents.

The FC and civil administration have arranged food and accommodation for the repatriating Afghan refugees. It merits mention here that Pakistan has set a great example by hosting millions of Afghans for over 40 years due to war in their country and has now taken the initiative to repatriate them in view of its national security.

It is no more possible to enter Pakistan without a passport and visa and this is a strong foundation of mutual respect in Pak-Afghan relations.
