Punjab police to play impartial, non-political role in elections: Askari

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Dr Hassan Askari has said administration and police in Punjab will play impartial and non-political role in elections.

Speaking at a meeting with Punjab Chief Secretary Akbar Durrani and Inspector General Punjab Kaleem Imam in Lahore on Tuesday, he said the caretaker government will provide equal opportunities to all political parties in elections.

Caretaker Chief Minister said caretaker government will fulfill his responsibilities amicably to hold transparent, fair and free elections.

He said holding of elections is a national responsibility and every personnel of police and administration perform his due role in this regard.

He urged police and administration to ensure conducting government affairs in professional manners and do not accept any pressure.
