Karachi: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani who chaired the Sindh Cabinet meeting here today said that the Federal Government was ready to help the Provincial Government but the bleeding of Karachi must stop forthwith.
The Prime Minister directed the Provincial Government and the heads of the law enforcement agencies to take stern and indiscriminate action against the culprits who had made the city life unsafe for the people. This is unacceptable and the culprits must be brought to justice by awarding them exemplary punishments, the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister made it clear that the situation in the city had to be brought under control. He urged the coalition partners and other stake holders to jell together and extend their full support to the law enforcement agencies which were fully committed to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.
The Prime Minister said that that the law enforcement agencies are fully capable of delivering effectively with the full backing of all the stake holders.
The Sindh Cabinet meeting will commence again after the Iftari. Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Interior Minister, Mr. Rehman Malik and Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Khursheed Shah were also present in the Sindh Cabinet meeting.
It may be mentioned here that the Prime Minister reached Karachi today because he could not come yesterday as was originally planned due to the bad weather.
