Islamabad: PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui passed away in Islamabad after a brief illness last night. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Senator Irfan Siddiqui. In their separate messages, they said Pakistan has lost a sagacious thinker, teacher, politician, and principled intellectual.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari extended condolences to his family, acknowledging that Senator Irfan Siddiqui rendered services for democracy. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that Irfan Siddiqui was an important member of the PML-N and was counted among the loyal companions of Mian Nawaz Sharif and the party. He emphasized that Irfan Siddiqui’s services to the party will always be remembered.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayer of PML-N leader, distinguished columnist, and analyst Senator Irfan Siddiqui was offered in Islamabad today. Federal Ministers including Attaullah Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Engineer Amir Muqam, alongside members of the journalist community, notables of the city, and a large number of people from different walks of life, attended the funeral prayer.
