Pakistan, US look forward to further diversify their partnership: Masood

Pakistan's ambassador to the United States Masood Khan says both countries have built a strong relationship over the decades and look forward to further diversify their partnership in trade, investment, education, climate change, IT and agriculture sectors.

He was speaking at a talk on Pakistan-US partnership for Regional Peace and Stability organized by the South Asian Study Council at Yale University.

The ambassador said both countries have cooperation in areas of security, economy and people-to-people exchanges from the early stages that laid the foundations for a strong partnership.

He said recent engagements have transformed Pak-US ties and new pathways for cooperation, particularly in the economic realm.

Masood Khan said bilateral trade between the two countries has been growing fast and the United States continues to be the largest export market for Pakistan.

He mentioned the growing business and tech sector relationship between the two countries.

About education sector, the ambassador said the number of Pakistani students enrolled in US educational universities has increased by 17 percent to 8,000 this year.
