Pakistan Focuses on Enhancing Regional Connectivity, Says DPM

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and fostering bilateral and multilateral development partnerships for socio-economic progress.

According to Radio Pakistan, during his address at the inaugural session of the “Margalla Dialogue” in Islamabad, Dar highlighted Pakistan’s strategic focus on geo-economics as a core component of its international engagements. He stressed the importance of leveraging Pakistan’s inherent advantages to benefit its people and the broader region.

Dar pointed out that the dialogue’s theme is pertinent given the current global shift towards unilateral block politics and the erosion of multilateral values. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s belief in the enduring significance of multilateralism, urging all nations, regardless of size, to adhere to the principles of the UN Charter and international law.

He further addressed the need to tackle global economic imbalances to break the cycle of poverty and inequality. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed optimism that the 6th “Margalla Dialogue” would address critical issues such as multilateralism, climate change, and the necessity for enhanced regional connectivity.

Dar also expressed hope that the discussions at the forum would aid Pakistan in discovering new avenues for cooperation, steering the country towards a more peaceful, stable, and prosperous future. He praised the Islamabad Policy Research Institute for organizing the event at such a crucial time.
