OIC condemns terrorist attacks targeting villages in Burkina Faso

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by gunmen in the villages of Diabiga and Kompienbiga, eastern Burkina Faso, on 14 and 15 September, killing five people and injuring three others.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen expressed his condemnation of such criminal acts targeting the security of the country and urged the local authorities to make every effort to apprehend the perpetrators of these attacks and bring them to justice. He also extended his sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed the OIC’s position rejecting all forms of violence and terrorism, reiterating the unwavering solidarity of the Organization with the government of Burkina Faso in its determination to combat terrorism.
