OIC chief condemns Mogadishu terrorist attacks


Jeddah Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen strongly condemned Saturday's terrorist car bomb blasts in Mogadishu, Somalia, killing at least 15 people and wounding many others.

Al-Othaimeen voiced regret over the terrorist attacks, carried out by terrorist group al-Shabaab. He also extended his deep sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Somalia, wishing a quick recovery to the wounded.

The secretary general reiterated OIC's full solidarity with the Somali authorities in their ongoing struggle against terrorism. He called on the international partners of the country to provide further support to the government and strengthen partnership with it to eliminate al-Shabaab, which continues to pose a threat to the regional peace and security.
