Karachi: Serving Hands Organization (SHO), a team of doctors and paramedics in collaboration with NIB Bank has organized free medical camps in different flood affected remote areas of district Badin. According to SHO here, these medical camps were organised in Mirza Farm Goth, Seerani town, Bhugra Memon Goth, all of these areas were under water.
The medical team consisting of 30 doctors, paramedics, volunteers had arrived in Seerani town and treated more than 2,500 people including minors, and women till late night. President SHO Dr Sikandar said that most of these people were suffering from gastroenteritis, skin infection, typhoid, malaria, asthma, besides arthritis and hypertension. “Nobody had reached them yet as these areas are still surrounded by flood water”, he added.
He said that SHO team included Dr Arshad Kabir, Dr Rakhshanda, Dr Ainee, Arshad Anwar, Syed Ibne Hassan, Mohammad Yousuf, senior executive of NIB Bank Najeeb Gilani and Naseer Chana (regional head).Sindh Rangers team led by DSR Tariq Sardar and Rashid Kiyani, a local notable Ikram, police official Gul Hasan have also helped the medical team in holding these camps. Dr Sikandar said that these people need clean drinking water.
The waterborne diseases can take their lives if not provided clean drinking water on emergency basis. “We will go there again soon to provide them further treatment and supply bottled water”, he vowed. “I am personally thankful to President NlB Bank Khawaja Iqbal Hassan and Group Chief Najeeb Gilani and Shakeel Paul who had provided financial and logistic support in successfully holding this camp.
We have provided quality medicines worth Rs 2.2 million free of cost in these camps”, he said He said that these people have lost their standing crops and need food and other consumer items. He said that medical team will go in these areas and Jati, Golarchi, Sujawal in the next visit.
