NA Speaker lauds road map preparations to address farmers’ problems


A meeting of National Assembly’s Special Committee on Agriculture products was held in Islamabad on Friday with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. The Speaker, in his remarks, said it is the first time in seventy years that a road map has been prepared to address the problems of farmers.

The speaker appreciated the steps taken to enhance the cotton production.

Minister for Food Security Fakhar Imam said the agriculture sector is in dire straits as no importance was given to the growers in the past.

He said efforts are required on priority basis to control the prices of food items.
