Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif says defense of the country would be strengthened as it is confronting enormous internal and external challenges.

He was speaking during his first visit to Ministry of Defense in Rawalpindi on Tuesday after assuming charge of his responsibilities as a Minister.

The Minister for Defence said our Armed Forces are pride of the country and the government would provide maximum support to enhance their capabilities and professionalism.

He assured that the government would provide all out resources and equipment to make defense of the country impregnable.

Earlier on his arrival at the Ministry, he was received by Secretary Defense, Lieutenant General (Retd) Mian Muhammad Hilal Hussain.

The Minister for Defence held introductory meeting with the senior officials of the Ministry and was briefed about the role and functions of Ministry and its allied departments.
