Karachi Electric Supply Company police arrests 7 copper wire thieves

Karachi: Karachi Electric Supply Company police has busted a highly-organized gang of copper wire thieves and arrested seven persons involved in stealing copper from high tension transmission lines, mostly from Pipri to Bin Qasim circuit while 14 are absconding. Big quantity of stolen copper wire was recovered from the culprits.

KESC Police had arrested six members of a connected gang of copper wire thieves last month and had been searching for more gangs active in the area. On Wednesday, KESC police caught hold of seven thieves while they had been attempting to cut down Pipri-Bin Qasim transmission line for the purpose of stealing copper wire.

Seven thieves were arrested while 14 accomplices escaped from the scene. A total of 105 feet extra high tension copper wire was recovered from the possession of arrested persons. Bin Qasim police station has registered FIR against the accused and investigation is on to get hold of the escaped persons.
