Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Punjab Bilal Akbar Khan have decided to constitute a joint coordination committee for the improvement of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between both the ministers in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, reforms in the transport sector and matters related to the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service were discussed during the meeting. The discussions focused on further improving the service, enhancing its efficiency, and upgrading the condition of its stations.
The meeting also covered various proposals aimed at making the service more active and effective, including an expansion of the metro bus route. The importance of electric transport for public convenience and reducing smog was another key topic of discussion.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that thousands of passengers utilize the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service daily. He highlighted the launch of electric buses for Islamabad’s citizens, noting that their coverage is being gradually expanded to enhance public transport options.
