Islamabad: President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan. On arrival, he was received by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Indonesian President is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising key ministers and senior officials. This visit marks President Prabowo’s first trip to Pakistan and coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Prabowo will engage in delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Additionally, he is scheduled to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari. Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, will also call on President Prabowo. The discussions are expected to cover a comprehensive agenda aimed at strengthening Pakistan-Indonesia relations. The focus will be on exploring new avenues of cooperation, including trade, investment, defence, health, IT, climate, education, and culture, as well as enhancing collaboration at regional and global levels.
Several Memoranda of Understanding are anticipated to be signed during the visit, further solidifying the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia.
