In Italy, a right-wing alliance, led by Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party, has won the election with clear majority in the next parliament.

Far-right leader Giorgia Meloni now will become the country’s first female prime minister.  She will form Italy’s most right-wing government since World War Two.

About 51 million Italians cast their votes for lawmakers in the lower and the upper house of parliament.
